Social Media Conference 2011, Hamburg

Social Media Conference 2011, Hamburg

Besides DLD11 in MUC, the Social Media Conference 2011 in Hamburg on FEB15/16 was the first social media event this year. The speaker line up was quite good, well-known names like Mirko Lange (talkabout), Maik Königs (eblkind) or Klaus Eck (pr-blogger.de) to name only a few.

Tino Kuehnel from BMW brought this time his colleagues from BMW Motorrad who showed their nice best-practices around their BMW motorcycle activities which was really fun again. The nice part about German automobile brands is their engaging community who pick up ideas and get really involved – as you can see here:

Personally one of the most interesting sessions was from Christian Solmecke who drilled into the legal aspects of social media which get more and more complicated as you can imagine. Nevertheless it becomes more and more important especially when social media is becoming mainstream what is happening actually. In a strategic perspective I really enjoyed the insights Frank Dopheide of Deutsche Markenarbeit (“German brand work”) gave. Coming from the “old” world, transforming this knowledge to the “new” environment and phenomena’s of today’s interaction oriented web economy.
